oogsten
The truth lies not in the answers, but in the spaces between them. Where mystery, ambiguity, and open-ended dialogue offer a chance to reimagine the way we see society and ourselves.

“oogsten” creates space for uncertainty, curiosity, and the unspoken genuineness that lies between binary choices. With the aim to challenge the instinct to label and categorize, but instead embracing the fluidity and complexity of human experience.

As our individual research journeys unfold, we’re also thrilled to begin shaping new projects. These are more than just final deliverables; they are growing processes built from questions, doubt, experimentation, and discovery. These projects are collective investigations into broader cultural or artistic themes, and we’re excited to let you in as they take form.
We’re happy to be able to share the start of our research-based projects with you:

“Just a Pretty Face”
This project dives into the aesthetic value of visual art and asks: is beauty really superficial, or can it carry meaning in itself? Through a series of visual experiments—illustrations, collages, photography, and more; it explores the power and perception of beauty in contemporary art. By intentionally focusing on works that are “just pretty,” the project reflects on what we dismiss, why we do so, and what deeper narratives may exist beneath a pleasing surface.

“An Archive of Failure”
This project shifts our angle, centering around failure—not as something to be fixed or hidden, but as a vital part of artistic and personal growth. Using writing, drawing, and possibly audiovisual storytelling, it collects real, unfiltered experiences of things going wrong. From creative dead-ends to emotional missteps, this growing archive reflects on how failure shapes us, challenges us, and sometimes even guides us forward.
These two projects are just the beginning. We’ll continue to post updates on our Instagram weekly, and share deeper insights every three weeks on our website; including process notes, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and critical reflections.

We can’t wait to bring you along for the ride as our ideas move from research to real, unfolding works.

With love,
Oogsten <3
